Many of you have asked us what the safety policies will be for Arkansas Comic Convention this year. The news regarding COVID changes and updates almost daily, so this information may be altered before the show begins.

The venue has informed us that they will be requiring masks upon entry into the Statehouse Convention Center in accordance with the City of Little Rock. The venue management has made sure to emphasize “masks upon entry” but have also told us that policing the usage of masks once inside the building is not something they will be actively pursue. We strongly encourage you follow the guidelines and wear your mask at the event. We also suggest using hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing.

If you are sick, don’t feel well, or have been exposed to COVID, please be responsible and stay home. Your safety, as well as the safety of all our attendees, is of the utmost importance.

1. It is completely at the guest’s discretion whether they require masks in photo ops or not. A few have told us they will require them without exception, and those that we know are listed on our website under their name on the Guest tab. Please be aware that this can change at any moment and is based on the comfort level of the guest.
2. Please respect the venue’s decision to make these changes and know this information is being shared out of our concern for the health of our staff, volunteers, and anyone involved with our event.

We recommend that you refrain from bringing any sort of bags to the event, unless absolutely necessary, to help with safety and efficiency of entry. If you must bring a bag, we ask that you follow the clear bag policy used throughout the United States at many ticketed events. The clear bag policy is a way of keeping fans and attendees safer, while also expediting entry into events. This policy limits the size and type of bags allowed into venues, with some exceptions for medical or childcare needs.

This clear bag policy generally states that “each ticketed guest can carry one large clear bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag or the 12″ x 6″ x 12″ clear bag – plus a small clutch purse (4.5″ x 6.5″).” Although like the mask policy, this clear bag policy is not mandatory, it will help with the overall safety and efficiency of the event. We do check each bag brought into the event; there will be separate lines for entry for those with bags and without.

We appreciate your patience and continued support. We hope this information helps those of you who had questions.
